Our Story
Where it Started
My name is Deb. My love of cooking began as a child, cooking and baking with my mom. In high school, I worked in the meal prep kitchen of Butchart Gardens, and then in various restaurants in Victoria, BC. I owned a restaurant, pub and catering company in the North Island, and then in 2012, I made my way back to mid Vancouver Island, where I now live and operate Up Beet Eats.
The Journey
Up Beet Eats was born out of an ambitious idea—a mobile kitchen that would come with me, wherever I needed, with the ease of being self-contained! In its incredible 5 year journey, Up Beet Eats has evolved beautifully as intended, from food trucking during 2021, to 100% premium event catering now.
Food and baking are my love language—this truly is my passion.
